Health Challenge- Update on Me

post signatureI have not posted in a while, so I figured it was time to give an update on progress. I have been at a standstill for the last two months. I've been back and forth to the Dr. more in two months than I have in 5 years.

I discovered that I have a underactive thyroid. Which is likely contributing to my stand still and lack on energy. I am not going to give up though! Now that I know what I am up against I know I need to step it up!  I’ve been having a lot of back pain which slows me down some. I have a curve in my spine so it is part of the territory. If I do my stretches I am usually ok.

I joined a health challenge at work, so for the next 5 weeks I will be focused on helping my team win as I help myself progress and get back on track.

Challenge Components:

Drink 64 oz of water daily
Get at least 7 hours of sleep each night (hard one for me, I am a night owl.)
5 minutes of stretching daily
30 minute workout 5 days a week
3 balanced meals each day
Daily serving of fruits and veggies

You also can lose points for:

Smoking- I don’t smoke
Drinking Alcohol- I don’t drink
Fast Food Meals
Unhealthy Snacks
Getting less than 5 hours of sleep
Getting less than 30 min of exercise all week

You can also earn bonus points!! Which I plan to do.

It’s a new year and I looking for ways not just to lose weight, but improve my health, feel better, and build my confidence.  I am not setting unrealistic goals but making changes that I plan to keep permanently.
