Staying Motivated

Let’s face it staying motivated to lose weight is not always easy when you have a big goal ahead of you. At times it seems overwhelming. However when you throw in the towel under a stressful situation you only bring guilt on yourself. I know, I have done it many times in the past.  I catch myself once and a while with that same “what’s the use in trying” mentality. It’s not good! I’ve found that overcoming the urges to give-in or give up during a stressful time only builds confidence and strength. It makes it easier for the next time something pops up.

I’ll just be real with you; my life is pretty stressful at the moment. Things are crazy at work, I have a lot of transitions going on, bills are racking up, and my hubby is out of work.  There are times when the weight of the world feels like it is resting on my tired shoulders. It would be easy to say; well I will just wait until things calm down. Life never really calms down though, the situations just change. I am staying focused on making gradual changes. Making healthier choices and moving more are the two main areas of focus right now. I am motivated to have a healthier lifestyle and I will keep pressing on.

Here is how I am staying motivated:
·        Prayer
·        Keeping my vision clear. I can visualize the change.
·        I take note of the things that motivate me- cute clothes, feeling better, high heels, confidence.     (ok so I’m motivated by shallow things- but I am honest!)
·        I identify the risks of losing motivation and the things that trigger a bad choice.
·        Keep my thoughts under control.
·        Take time for me! I make sure I do something to pamper myself every week.
·        If I really want something I have it, just in moderation.
·        I have something big planned for when I reach my goal!!

Have an awesome Thursday! One more day until the weekend!
